Start of the pig breeding training programme of the food security project in Vietnam.

On September 21, 22 and 23, we started a training programme on pig breeding techniques in Muong Thai community (Phu Yen district). This programme is directed to all the beneficiaries of the project “Improving life conditions of impoverished rural areas of Phu Yen district through sustainable agriculture and livestock practices” that CONEMUND is implementing directly in Vietnam, with no local counterpart.

This training programme will be divided in five sessions of one day each, where expert animal breeding consultants, together with CONEMUND’s local field staff, will instruct the members of Rural Production Groups in different management and pig breeding techniques, using for that the pigsties previously built by the project.

This first session inaugurated the technical skill building programme that goes along with the construction of 8 pigsties and the delivery of 16 female pigs for reproduction, provided by CONEMUND to five small villages targeted by the project.
